COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to equip organizations with the knowledge and skills necessary to cultivate a workplace environment where safety is paramount and will delve into the principles of effective leadership in safety, emphasizing the role of managers and supervisors in setting the tone for a safety-first culture. Participants will explore strategies for risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident prevention, while also learning how to engage and motivate their teams to prioritize safety. Participants will also gain insights into creating clear safety policies, fostering open communication, and addressing safety concerns proactively. By the end of this course, participants will be well-equipped to lead their organizations towards a healthier and safer work environment, ultimately reducing accidents and enhancing overall productivity.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
  • Be able to cite at least two reasons why an effective safety and health program are necessary;
  • Differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate reinforcement of safety and health behavior.

Lesson 7: Delegating Effectively

It is difficult in the day to day whirlwind to properly delegate and get the results that you are looking for. This module will take you through a step by step process for delegating effectively. Learn how to spend your time as a leader more productively and understand “SIMPLE” delegation methods.

Today’s leader must be versatile and adaptable. This training is designed for department heads, front line supervisors, team leaders and coordinators whether they are new to the position or have been in a leadership role for years. 

Course Delivery
Blended Learning - Online, Self-Paced and Instructor Led

Participants will receive a link to the online portion of the course one week prior to the class date, to complete on their own. This is a 1 hour self-paced lesson. Participants will then join a 90 minute, virtual instructor-led class to review course material and apply knowledge through class activities.

Participants will be awarded a badge for each course they complete. A Leadership Development Certificate will be awarded to those participants completing all 7 courses within the certification.

The Tennessee Drug-Free Workplace Program is designed to increase productivity for Tennessee employers and promote safe worksites for employees by promoting drug and alcohol-free workplaces.

This training is provided for free by the State of Tennessee.
