COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Interpreting Technical Sketches & Drawings course equips learners with the skills to read and understand industrial prints and technical drawings used in manufacturing and maintenance environments. Participants will gain confidence in identifying key components, symbols, dimensions, and features to accurately interpret visual information and support effective communication on the job.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Explain how orthographic views represent 3D objects.
- Sketch clean, proportioned views using layout guides.
- Break objects into basic geometric shapes.
- Interpret dimensions, scale, and basic symbols.
- Recognize standard drawing conventions (e.g., sections, tolerances).
- Visualize and reconstruct 3D shapes from 2D views.
- Create basic orthographic and isometric sketches.
